Casting Metal Tool Parts with Gold and Sand Casts

Make a Cast First

Casting requires a cast shaped like the part you want. Use a Blank Gold Cast, Blank Sand Cast, or Blank Red Sand Cast as the base, then shape it against the part you want to reproduce. Gold Casts are reusable; Sand Casts and Red Sand Casts are consumed. Each part has its own cast variant — for example Adze Head Gold Cast, Broad Axe Head Gold Cast, Bow Limb Gold Cast, Boot Plating Gold Cast, and Chest Plating Gold Cast.

Cast at the Table or Basin

Small parts cast at the Casting Table using the tconstruct:casting_table recipe. Larger blocks and some components use the Casting Basin with tconstruct:casting_basin. Place the cast in the table, pour molten metal from a Smeltery or Foundry, and the cooled result is your part. Composite casts use tconstruct:table_casting_composite and tconstruct:basin_casting_composite, letting you combine materials in one pour.

Pick Your Metal

Molten metal comes from ores and ingots. Relevant metals include Cobalt, Manyullyn, Hepatizon, Rose Gold, Pig Iron, Slimesteel, Soulsteel, Knightslime, Cinderslime, Amethyst Bronze, and Steel. Each has its own Block form (Block of Cobalt, Block of Manyullyn, Block of Hepatizon, Block of Rose Gold, Block of Pig Iron, Block of Slimesteel, Block of Soulsteel, Block of Knightslime, Block of Cinderslime, Block of Amethyst Bronze, Block of Steel) and ingot/nugget forms. Raw Cobalt also exists as Block of Raw Cobalt.
