Building Your First Tinkers' Construct Tool: Station, Patterns, and Parts
Tools in Tinkers' Construct are assembled from parts, not crafted directly. You need a Tool Station, a Pattern, and the part materials.
Making the Station and Patterns
1. Craft a Tool Station.
2. Craft a Pattern from a plank and a stick.
3. Place the Pattern in the Tool Station's pattern slot.
4. Select the tool part you want to make.
5. The station shows the materials you can use for that part.
6. Place the material in the input slot and take the finished part.
Each tool needs several parts. A pickaxe needs a pickaxe head, a tool binding, and a tool rod. A sword needs a blade, a guard, and a tool rod. Make one Pattern per part type you need.
Assembling the Tool
1. Open the Tool Station.
2. Place all required parts in the part slots.
3. The station shows the resulting tool and its stats.
4. Take the tool out.
Choosing Materials
Different materials give different stats. A part made from one material may be faster, more durable, or do more damage than the same part made from another. The station previews the final tool's stats before you commit, so swap parts in the slots to compare before taking the tool.
