Troubleshoot trees not felling or saplings not planting

Check tree detection

The plugin only fells trees that are fully grown and connected to the log you break. Verify that your tree is mature—saplings and small trees may not trigger felling. Also confirm you're hitting the bottom log block of the tree, not a higher branch.

Verify configuration settings

Confirm that Tree Felling is enabled in your config. If it's off, trees break normally. Check your Detection Limits—if the tree is larger than your configured maximum, the plugin won't fell it. Review Tool Requirements to ensure you're holding an axe if that setting is active.

Inspect the dirt block

Saplings only plant if the block directly below the tree's base is dirt or similar soil. If that block is missing, replaced, or occupied by another block, the sapling drops as an item instead. Clear the area and try again.

Check leaf processing

If Leaf Processing is disabled, leaves won't break with the logs. This shouldn't prevent felling, but it changes what drops. Review your audio settings too—if sounds are muted, you might miss audio feedback that felling worked.
