Set up tree felling for your server

Enable tree felling

Tree felling is the core feature that makes entire trees fall when you break the bottom log. Check your server configuration file to ensure the Tree Felling option is enabled. If it's turned off, trees will break normally one block at a time.

Configure detection limits

You can set a maximum tree size to prevent the plugin from attempting to fell trees that are too large. This protects server performance by stopping the plugin from processing massive custom trees or terrain generation errors. Adjust the Detection Limits setting to a reasonable value for your server—larger limits mean bigger trees can be felled, but may impact performance during peak times.

Require an axe

Enable the Tool Requirements option to force players to hold an axe when felling trees. Without this setting, players can break trees with any tool or even their bare hand. This adds a small survival cost and prevents accidental tree felling.

Test the feature

Once configured, grab an axe and approach a fully grown tree. Aim at the bottom log block and break it. The entire tree should fall instantly, dropping all wood and leaves according to normal Minecraft drop chances.
