There Are Hot Singles Nearby Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I trigger the hot singles message?
Try to sleep in a bed while there are hostile mobs nearby—the same condition that normally shows the "You may not rest now, there are monsters nearby" warning. The resource pack replaces that vanilla message with the joke text.
Do I need to be in survival mode for this to work?
Yes, the bed warning only appears in Survival and Adventure modes. In Creative mode, you can sleep without restrictions, so the message will never trigger.
What counts as a monster being nearby?
Any hostile mob (zombies, skeletons, creepers, etc.) within the detection range of your bed prevents sleep, just like vanilla Minecraft. The exact range is the same as the standard game mechanic.
Can I use this pack with other resource packs?
Yes, you can stack it with other packs in your resource pack list. If another pack also modifies bed messages, whichever pack is loaded higher in your list will take priority.
The message isn't showing up. What should I check?
Make sure the resource pack is enabled in your world settings, verify there are actually hostile mobs near your bed when you try to sleep, and check that no other resource pack is overriding it higher in your load order.
Does this work on servers or only single-player?
Resource packs are client-side only, so this will work on servers without the server needing to install anything—it only affects what you see.
Will this pack break if I update Minecraft?
Resource packs are generally compatible across versions as long as the bed mechanic hasn't changed. If the message doesn't appear after an update, try re-enabling the pack or checking for a newer version.
Can I see the joke message in the chat or only on screen?
The message appears as an on-screen popup when you try to sleep with mobs nearby, not in the chat log.
Does this affect any other game text or menus?
No, the pack only changes the bed warning message. All other menus, buttons, and in-game text remain completely normal.
What if I have multiple resource packs that modify text—which one wins?
The resource pack highest in your load order takes priority. You can drag packs up or down in the resource pack menu to control which one applies.
