How to Get and Use the Magic Map

Obtain the Blank Map

Craft a Blank Magic Map using paper and a Magic Map Focus or similar components from the mod. You can also find Blank Magic Maps in dungeon chests. The Blank Magic Map must be activated before it shows terrain.

Activate the Map

Hold the Blank Magic Map and right-click while standing in the Twilight Forest. The map will fill in with the terrain around you. As you explore, the map updates to show biomes, structures, and boss areas. Use the map to locate the Naga Courtyard, Labyrinth, Fire Swamp, Dark Tower, Snow Forest, and other progression areas.

Maze and Ore Maps

Craft a Blank Maze Map or Blank Maze/Ore Map to reveal dungeon layouts and ore locations. These maps help you navigate the Labyrinth and other mazes without getting lost. Keep your maps in a Canopy Chest when not in use. Combine map exploration with boss progression: use the Magic Map to find the next boss area, then switch to the Maze Map once inside. Mark important locations with Canopy Signs or torches so you can return quickly.
