How to Dry Food and Make Jerky in The Twilight Forest
Building a Drying Rack
Craft a Drying Rack from any wood type you have on hand: Acacia Drying Rack, Bamboo Drying Rack, Birch Drying Rack, Canopy Drying Rack, Cherry Drying Rack, Crimson Drying Rack, Dark Oak Drying Rack, or Darkwood Drying Rack. Place it down and right-click to open it.
What You Can Dry
Drying is its own recipe type, separate from smelting and smoking. The outputs you want are the jerky items: Beef Jerky, Chicken Jerky, and Cod Jerky. Put the raw meat in the rack and wait for the drying process to finish, then collect the jerky. Jerky is a portable food source that does not need a furnace or fuel, which makes it useful for long trips through the Twilight Forest.
Combining Ingredients
Berry Medley is another food item you can prepare. Keep an eye on your rack slots so finished jerky does not sit there while you are away from base. If you are setting up a kitchen area, place several Drying Racks side by side so you can process beef, chicken, and cod at the same time. Match the rack wood to your build: Canopy Drying Rack for a Canopy Planks kitchen, Darkwood Drying Rack for a Darkwood Planks kitchen, and so on. Each rack works the same way regardless of wood type.
