How to Craft and Use Ironwood, Knightmetal, and Steeleaf Gear

Gather the Materials

Ironwood, Knightmetal, and Steeleaf are progression metals. Ironwood comes from Ironwood Ingots, which you obtain by smelting Ironwood Ore or processing Ironwood items. Knightmetal comes from Knightmetal Ingots, found in the Goblin Knight Stronghold and related areas. Steeleaf comes from Steeleaf Ingots, obtained in the Labyrinth and Dark Tower.

Craft Blocks and Gear

Craft a Block of Ironwood, Block of Knightmetal, and Block of Steeleaf for storage and decoration. Use the ingots to craft tools, weapons, and armor at a crafting table. Ironwood gear is the first tier, Knightmetal is stronger, and Steeleaf is the highest of the three. Use stonecutting recipes for related blocks and stairs where available.

Upgrade and Maintain

Upgrade from Ironwood to Knightmetal to Steeleaf as you defeat bosses. Keep spare ingots in a Canopy Chest near your portal. Repair gear at an anvil using the same ingots. Combine these metals with Arctic Fur gear from the Alpha Yeti for cold biomes. Use Block of Ironwood, Block of Knightmetal, and Block of Steeleaf as beacon-like decoration in your base.
