TAA69 Shaders FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on TAA69 after installing it?
TAA69 activates automatically once installed—you'll see the smoothing effect right away in-game. If you don't see it working, check that your shader pack is enabled in your video settings and that you're using a compatible render engine.
Why do my edges look blurry when I move the camera?
This is usually caused by TAA intensity being too high for your setup. Lower the shader intensity in the settings to reduce blur, or disable motion-based smoothing if your mod menu offers that option.
What's the difference between TAA69 and other anti-aliasing shaders?
TAA69 uses temporal anti-aliasing to smooth edges without the ghosting trails or heavy blur that older methods cause, and it's optimized to run on low-end computers while keeping the vanilla look intact.
Can I use TAA69 with other shader packs?
No—TAA69 is a standalone shader and conflicts with other shader packs. You'll need to choose one or the other, not both at the same time.
My game is stuttering with TAA69 on. How do I fix it?
Try lowering the shader intensity or reducing your render distance. If that doesn't help, disable any optional features in TAA69's settings, or check that your graphics drivers are up to date.
Does TAA69 work on servers or only single-player?
TAA69 is a client-side shader, so it works in both single-player and on servers—it only affects what you see and doesn't require the server to support it.
Why do I see ghosting or smearing when I turn my camera?
This happens when TAA's temporal sampling is too aggressive for fast camera movement. Reduce the TAA intensity or enable a ghosting reduction option if available in your shader settings.
Can I adjust how strong the smoothing effect is?
Yes—most TAA69 setups include intensity or quality sliders in the shader options menu. Lower values give subtler smoothing, while higher values smooth more aggressively but may cause blur.
Does TAA69 work with ray tracing or fancy graphics mods?
TAA69 is designed for vanilla-style graphics and may conflict with advanced rendering mods. Test compatibility with your other mods, as results vary depending on what else you're running.
Why do distant blocks still look jagged even with TAA69 on?
TAA works best on edges close to the camera; very distant geometry may still show aliasing due to how temporal sampling works at range. This is normal and a trade-off for keeping performance high.
