Enable Symbolic Subtitles and Configure Sound Icons
Turn On Subtitles in Game Settings
First, open your game settings and navigate to Accessibility. Find the Subtitles toggle and switch it on. This activates the subtitle display system that the resource pack enhances.
Verify the Resource Pack is Active
Go to Options → Resource Packs. Look for Symbolic Subtitles in your active packs list (right side). If it's in your inactive packs (left side), click it to move it to active. The order matters—place it above any conflicting packs that also modify subtitles or fonts.
Test Your Setup
Load into a world and trigger a sound: break a block, let a mob groan, or use an item. You should see subtitle text appear with a small icon beside it. If you see only text without icons, the pack may not be loading correctly. Try moving it higher in your resource pack order, or restart your game.
Adjust Text Size if Needed
If icons or text appear too small or large, return to Accessibility settings and adjust the Subtitle Scale slider. This affects both the text and accompanying symbols equally.
