Optimize Sylvan Drift for Use With Shader Packs

Select the Shader-Optimized Preset

If you're running a shader pack, navigate to Mod Settings > Sylvan Drift and select the Shader-Optimized performance preset. This configuration balances particle effects with shader rendering to prevent frame rate drops.

Reduce Particle Density if Needed

Shader packs are demanding. If you experience lag, lower the Particle Density slider incrementally. Start by reducing it by 25% and test performance in a dense forest. Shader packs handle particle rendering differently than vanilla, so you may need less density than you'd expect.

Disable Conflicting Effects

Some shader packs include their own fog or atmospheric effects. If particles appear duplicated or visually jarring, disable Forest Fog or Cave Dust in the Sylvan Drift settings while keeping leaf particles enabled.

Test in Multiple Environments

Load into different biomes—especially cherry groves and jungles—to ensure particles render smoothly alongside your shader. Adjust wind speed and particle size if effects feel out of place with your shader's aesthetic.
