Optimize Performance on Lower-End Hardware
Reduce Intensive Features
Open shader settings and disable or lower:
- Shadow Distance: Set to a shorter range to reduce shadow rendering overhead.
- Reflection Quality: Lower water and sky reflection detail.
- Bloom Intensity: Reduce the glow effect around light sources.
- Vegetation Animation: Disable or minimize waving grass and leaf effects.
Adjust Render Distance and Quality Tiers
If available, look for preset quality options (Low, Medium, High) and select a lower tier. Some shader packs offer a "Fast" mode that maintains visual appeal while significantly improving frame rates.
Monitor Frame Rate
Apply changes incrementally and check your FPS counter (F3 in Java Edition) after each adjustment. Find the balance point where the shader still looks good but maintains playable frame rates for your system. Start conservative—you can always increase quality later if performance allows. Test in demanding areas like dense forests or large water bodies to ensure stability.
