Customize Light Source Glow and Bloom Effects
Access Bloom and Glow Settings
Open the shader configuration menu from Video Settings. Find the section labeled Bloom, Glow, or Light Effects.
Adjust Bloom Parameters
Modify these settings to control how torches, lanterns, fire, and other light sources appear:
- Bloom Strength: Controls the intensity of the glow halo around bright light sources. Increase for a more cinematic, ethereal look; decrease for subtler lighting.
- Bloom Radius: Determines how far the glow spreads from its source. Larger radius creates softer, more diffuse light; smaller radius keeps glow concentrated.
- Light Saturation: Adjusts the color intensity of glowing light, making warm tones from torches and fire more or less vibrant.
Test Different Lighting Scenarios
Build a small structure with various light sources—torches, lanterns, campfires, and glowstone—to see how bloom affects each. Observe the effect at night versus day, and in enclosed versus open spaces. Adjust until the warm glow feels natural and enhances the atmosphere without overwhelming the scene.
