Adjust Shadow Quality and Softness
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu by pressing the designated key while in-game (typically accessed through the pause menu under Video Settings, then Shaders). Look for the shader pack name in the list and select it to open its configuration panel.
Configure Shadow Parameters
Within the settings, locate shadow-related options. You'll find sliders or toggles for:
- Shadow Distance: Controls how far shadows render from your character. Reducing this improves performance on lower-end systems.
- Shadow Softness: Adjusts the blur and feathering of shadow edges. Higher values create gentler, more cinematic shadows; lower values produce sharper, more defined shadows.
- Shadow Intensity: Controls how dark shadows appear. Increase for more dramatic lighting, decrease for subtler effects.
Apply and Test
After adjusting values, apply the changes and observe how shadows look across different terrain—under trees, buildings, and during different times of day. Revisit settings if the effect feels too harsh or too subtle. Remember that shadow quality directly impacts frame rate, so balance visual preference with performance needs.
