Spud’s 3D Celestials Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Why can't I see the 3D sun and moon in my world?
Make sure the resource pack is enabled in your resource pack menu and placed at the top of your pack list so it overrides default textures. If you're using shaders, verify they support custom sky rendering; some shader packs may conflict with the 3D models.
How do I get the moon phases to change correctly?
The pack automatically syncs with your world's lunar cycle—moon phases update as in-game time passes. If phases aren't changing, check that your world time is advancing normally and the pack hasn't been accidentally disabled.
Can I use this pack with other resource packs at the same time?
Yes, place this pack at the very top of your resource pack list in the menu so it loads first and its sky textures take priority over others. Packs below it will still apply their textures to blocks and items without conflict.
Do shaders make the 3D sun and moon look better?
Shaders can enhance the lighting and glow effects on the celestial bodies, making them appear more realistic with better shadows and bloom. Not all shaders are compatible, so test with your preferred shader to see if it improves the visuals.
The sun looks flat or wrong—what's happening?
Check that you haven't accidentally placed another resource pack above this one in your list, which would override the 3D sun texture. Also verify the pack is fully extracted and not corrupted by re-enabling it in the resource pack menu.
Will this pack work on older or newer Minecraft versions?
This pack is designed to work across multiple game versions without requiring additional setup or patches. If you experience issues on a specific version, try disabling and re-enabling the pack, or check if a shader mod is interfering.
Can I see the moon during the day?
The moon may be visible during certain times of day depending on the lunar phase and your viewing angle, just like in real life. If you never see it during daytime, this is normal behavior—try looking at different times or phases.
Does this pack affect performance or FPS?
The 3D models are lightweight and shouldn't cause significant FPS drops on most systems. If you notice performance issues, try disabling any shader effects or reducing render distance to isolate the cause.
Why does the moon disappear or look wrong at certain angles?
The 3D moon model may be culled (hidden) when you're looking directly away from it or when it's below the horizon, which is intended behavior. Adjust your camera angle or wait for the moon to rise higher in the sky to see it clearly.
Can I customize the sun and moon appearance or size?
This pack provides fixed 3D models and textures as designed; customization options are not built into the pack itself. If you want to modify appearance, you would need to edit the pack's texture files directly, which requires resource pack editing knowledge.
