Reduce God Rays for Better Visibility

Open Shader Configuration

Press the shader menu key (default: Right Shift + R) to access SpudLight's settings while playing.

Find God Ray Controls

Locate the volumetric lighting or god rays section. This controls the light beams that stream through leaves and clouds:

  • God Ray Intensity: Lowers the brightness of light shafts. Reduce this if rays wash out your view or make caves hard to see.
  • God Ray Density: Controls how thick and visible the rays appear. Lower values make them more subtle.
  • Ray Distance: Adjusts how far light beams travel. Shorter distances mean rays only appear close to the light source.

Save and Verify

Close the menu and look toward trees or open sky. The light beams should be less intrusive while still adding atmosphere. This is especially helpful when exploring caves or playing in dense forests where visibility matters.
