Optimize Performance on Low-End Hardware
Access Performance Settings
Open the shader menu (Right Shift + R) and navigate to performance or quality options.
Reduce Visual Features
SpudLight is already lightweight, but you can dial it back further:
- Disable or lower shadow distance: Shadows close to the player still look good at reduced range.
- Reduce god ray quality: Set volumetric lighting to low or minimal.
- Lower animation intensity: Foliage and water wave animations can be toned down or disabled.
- Decrease shadow softness: Harder-edged shadows require less processing power.
Monitor Frame Rate
After each change, observe your FPS counter. SpudLight should maintain smooth gameplay even on integrated graphics. If you still experience lag, try disabling god rays entirely—they're the most demanding feature. The mod is designed to run well on budget setups, so aggressive optimization shouldn't be necessary unless your system is very constrained.
