Adjust Shadow Intensity and Direction
Access Shader Settings
Press the shader settings key (default: Right Shift + R) while in-game to open the SpudLight configuration menu. This menu lets you fine-tune how shadows appear across your world.
Configure Shadow Options
Look for shadow-related sliders in the settings panel:
- Shadow Distance: Controls how far shadows extend from blocks and mobs. Lower values reduce shadow range but improve performance.
- Shadow Softness: Adjusts the blur and edge quality of shadows. Higher values create gentler, more realistic shadows.
- Sun/Moon Position: Some versions allow you to shift the apparent light direction, which changes where shadows fall.
Apply and Test
After adjusting values, close the menu and observe how your world looks. Shadows on terrain, trees, and mobs should update immediately. If performance drops, reduce shadow distance or softness. Test during different times of day—shadows look most dramatic at sunrise and sunset when the sun is low.
