Spell Compat for MCDW All the Smites Data Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Do I need Spellblades and Such installed for this to work?
Yes, this data pack requires both the Minecraft Dungeons Weapons mod and the Spellblades and Such mod to function. Without Spellblades and Such, the smite ability won't be available on your weapons.
How do I get smite on my greatsword?
Smite is automatically added to all greatswords from the Minecraft Dungeons Weapons mod when you have this data pack installed—no crafting or special steps needed. You can apply it like any other smite enchantment through the Spellblades and Such system.
Does smite work on all the big weapons or just greatswords?
Smite works on greatswords, hammers, maces, and other heavy weapons from the mod, including unusual ones like the bone club. Essentially all the larger weapons get smite compatibility.
Can I combine smite with other enchantments on the same weapon?
Yes, you can layer smite with other enchantments depending on what the Spellblades and Such mod allows and what your weapon can support. Check your specific weapon's enchantment slots to see what combinations are possible.
Why isn't smite showing up on my weapons?
Make sure the data pack is enabled in your world settings and that both the Minecraft Dungeons Weapons mod and Spellblades and Such mod are installed. If you're in an existing world, you may need to reload or create a new one for the data pack to take effect.
Does this mod add new weapons or just modify existing ones?
This data pack only modifies existing weapons from the Minecraft Dungeons Weapons mod by adding smite compatibility—it doesn't create new weapons.
Is smite better on heavy weapons than on regular swords?
Heavy weapons deal more damage per hit than regular swords, so smite's bonus damage is amplified on them, making them excellent for fighting undead. The higher base damage of greatswords, hammers, and maces makes smite particularly effective.
Will this data pack work with other weapon mods?
This data pack is specifically designed for the Minecraft Dungeons Weapons mod and won't add smite to weapons from other mods. It only affects MCDW weapons.
Can I use smited heavy weapons in PvP or only against mobs?
Smite only deals extra damage to undead mobs, so it won't provide any advantage against players in PvP—it's purely for fighting skeletons, zombies, and similar creatures.
Do I need to do anything special to update this data pack in an existing world?
Simply update the data pack files and reload your world; the changes should apply automatically. If you encounter issues, try reloading the data packs through the in-game menu.
