How to Use Processing and Utility Upgrades

Furnace-Type Upgrades

Smelting Upgrade and Auto-smelting Upgrade cook items as if in a furnace. Blasting Upgrade and Auto-blasting Upgrade do blast-furnace recipes, and Smoking Upgrade and Auto-smoking Upgrade do smoker recipes. Place the upgrade in a slot, put the raw input in the backpack, and the processed output appears according to the upgrade's behavior.

Crafting and Shaping

The Crafting Upgrade gives the backpack a crafting grid so you can craft without a table. The Anvil Upgrade provides anvil functionality, and the Stonecutter Upgrade provides stonecutter recipes. The Compacting Upgrade and Advanced Compacting Upgrade combine items into denser forms, useful for turning ingots into blocks or similar conversions.

Feeding and Mob Handling

The Feeding Upgrade and Advanced Feeding upgrade automatically feed you when hungry, provided food is stored in the backpack. The Mob Catcher Upgrade and Advanced Mob Catcher Upgrade capture mobs into the backpack's storage.

Fluid, Energy and Experience

The Tank Upgrade stores fluids, and the Pump Upgrade or Advanced Pump Upgrade moves them. The Battery Upgrade stores energy. The Experience Pump Upgrade handles experience. The Alchemy Upgrade and Advanced Alchemy Upgrade cover alchemy-related behavior.

Convenience

The Jukebox Upgrade and Advanced Jukebox Upgrade play music. The Tool Swapper Upgrade and Advanced Tool Swapper Upgrade swap your held tool automatically. The Everlasting Upgrade keeps the backpack from being destroyed, the Inception Upgrade changes how it behaves when nested, and the Survival Infinity Upgrade and Infinity Upgrade (Admin) provide infinite storage under their respective conditions.
