How to Craft a Backpack and Upgrade It Through Every Tier

Crafting the First Backpack

Start with a Backpack. It is produced by the sophisticatedbackpacks:basic_backpack recipe. Once you have it, you can wear it or place it as a Backpack block.

To move up the material tiers, craft the next backpack and combine it with your current one using the sophisticatedbackpacks:backpack_upgrade recipe. The progression is:

• Backpack → Copper Backpack
• Copper Backpack → Iron Backpack
• Iron Backpack → Gold Backpack
• Gold Backpack → Diamond Backpack
• Diamond Backpack → Netherite Backpack

The final step uses the sophisticatedbackpacks:smithing_backpack_upgrade recipe to reach Netherite Backpack.

Adding Upgrades

Every upgrade needs an Upgrade Base. Craft the base, then combine it with the specific upgrade item in a crafting grid. For example, an Upgrade Base plus the required materials gives you a Pickup Upgrade, Magnet Upgrade, Crafting Upgrade, Smelting Upgrade, Filter Upgrade, or any other upgrade from the list.

Upgrades can be placed into the backpack's upgrade slots. Higher-tier versions exist for many of them, such as Advanced Pickup Upgrade, Advanced Magnet Upgrade, Advanced Filter Upgrade, Advanced Void Upgrade, and Advanced Restock Upgrade. These are made by upgrading the base version rather than starting from scratch.

If you need more space inside the backpack itself, use Stack Upgrade Tier 1 through Stack Upgrade Tier 4, or the Stack Upgrade Omega Tier. Conversions like Stack Upgrade Conversion: Tier 1 to Tier 2 let you move a lower tier up without losing the slot.
