Small Hand Tools Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need to do anything after installing the resource pack?
No setup required—just activate it in your resource pack menu and it takes effect immediately. The smaller tool sizes will apply to your main hand automatically in your next game session.
Will this work with my other resource packs?
It depends on load order and what those packs modify. If another pack also changes tool models, place Small Hand Tools lower in your resource pack list so it takes priority, or check if the packs target different aspects of the game.
Does this affect how other players see my weapons?
No—resource packs only change what you see on your own screen. Other players will see your weapons at normal size regardless of your pack settings.
Can I use this in multiplayer servers?
Yes, resource packs are client-side only, so servers allow them. Just make sure your server doesn't have conflicting texture restrictions.
Why do some of my tools still look big?
The pack targets specific handheld items like swords, axes, bows, crossbows, maces, and tridents. Off-hand items and tools not in this list won't be affected.
Does this work with enchanted or custom tools?
Yes—the size reduction applies to all variants of supported tools, including enchanted versions and those with custom names or NBT data.
Will this affect my FPS or performance?
No, resource packs don't impact performance since they only change textures and models, not game logic or rendering load.
Can I make the tools even smaller or adjust the size myself?
You can edit the resource pack's model files if you're comfortable with JSON, but the default size is balanced for visibility without losing weapon clarity.
Does this work in Bedrock Edition?
This pack is designed for Java Edition. Bedrock has different resource pack formats and may not support the same model modifications.
What should I do if weapons look stretched or broken?
Make sure you're using the latest version of the pack and that no other packs are overriding the tool models. If the issue persists, try removing conflicting packs one at a time to identify the cause.
