Level Up Your Mining Skill Efficiently

Best Blocks to Mine

Mining skill gains are based on block hardness, so targeting the right blocks accelerates your progress. Focus on harder stone variants and ore blocks rather than dirt or sand. Deepslate, blackstone, and ore blocks yield significantly more XP per block broken than softer materials.

Mining Strategy

1. Find a mining area with abundant hard blocks—caves, quarries, or strip mining tunnels work well.

2. Use a pickaxe appropriate for the blocks you're breaking to ensure you gain XP (wooden pickaxes won't work on stone).

3. Mine continuously without long breaks; XP accumulates with each block destroyed.

4. Check your progress by pressing Tab to view your Mining level in the player list.

5. Unlock better pickaxes as you level up—higher Mining levels unlock tools with better durability and efficiency.

Scaling Your Effort

Early levels come quickly with basic stone. Mid-game progression slows around level 30–50, so consider mixing Mining with other activities. Once you reach higher levels, you'll unlock pickaxes that make mining faster and more rewarding, creating a natural progression loop.
