Set Up a Two-Way Radio Network Between Bases
Creating Matching Frequency Channels
To communicate between distant bases, you need radios tuned to the same frequency. Place one radio block at each location, then sneak and right-click both to set them to an identical frequency channel.
Configuring Input and Output Modes
Decide which base will transmit and which will receive, or set up both directions:
- Transmitting base: Right-click your radio to toggle it into Input mode (microphone). Speak within 15 blocks of this radio—your voice transmits to all Output radios on that frequency.
- Receiving base: Keep your radio in Output mode (receiver). All players standing within 15 blocks hear incoming transmissions from Input radios on the same channel.
For two-way communication, place two radios at each base on the same frequency—one set to Input, one to Output.
Extending Range with Antenna Towers
Stack lightning rods vertically on top of your radio blocks to expand transmission distance across additional chunks. Taller towers reach farther. This is essential for bases separated by large distances.
