Smelting, Blasting, and Cooking with Silent's Gems

Furnace Smelting

Silent's Gems includes smelting recipes (24 in total). Use a standard furnace to convert raw materials into usable gem items. Place your input in the top slot and fuel in the bottom slot, then wait for the arrow to fill. Smelting is the slowest but most accessible processing method — good for early game when you have not built faster infrastructure yet.

Blast Furnace

Blasting recipes (22 in total) mirror most smelting recipes but run faster in a blast furnace. If you have a blast furnace, use it for bulk processing of gems and related materials. The input and fuel slots work the same way as a regular furnace, but the output completes in roughly half the time. This is the better choice once you have iron to spare for the blast furnace recipe.

Campfire and Smoker

There are also campfire_cooking recipes (2) and smoking recipes (2). Campfire cooking lets you process items without fuel by placing them on a lit campfire — useful when you are away from base. Smoking recipes run in a smoker and are the fastest of the cooking methods, but only apply to the small set of items that use them. Check your recipe viewer to see which items fall into each category.

Practical Workflow

• Early game: use a furnace for smelting.
• Mid game: build a blast furnace for speed.
• On the move: use a campfire for the two campfire recipes.
• For the two smoking recipes, keep a smoker at base.
