Server Pack Unlocker Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I know if the mod is working?
Open your resource pack menu in-game and look for server packs listed separately from your own packs. If you can see and reorder them, the mod is active. You'll also notice a new "Disabled" option appears for server packs that wasn't there before.
Can I use my own resource pack AND the server's pack at the same time?
Yes. Place your pack above the server pack in the resource menu to override it, or below to let the server pack show through. The mod lets you control the priority order just like regular packs.
What happens if I disable a server pack?
The server will stop sending that resource pack to your client, and your game won't download or store it. You can re-enable it anytime by changing the setting back.
Do I need to rejoin the server after changing pack settings?
No. Changes to pack order and disabled/enabled status take effect immediately in your menu. You don't need to disconnect or reconnect.
Why can't I move a server pack in my resource menu?
Make sure the mod is installed and enabled. If it's installed but packs still won't move, try restarting your game. Server packs should appear as movable entries just like your own packs once the mod is working.
Will the server know I'm using a different resource pack?
No. Resource packs are client-side only—the server cannot detect which textures you're seeing. You can override server packs without any risk to your connection or account.
What if the server pack and my pack conflict?
Whichever pack is higher in your resource menu takes priority. Experiment with the order to decide which textures you want to see, or use packs designed to work together.
Can I save my pack settings for each server?
Pack order and disabled/enabled settings are stored locally on your client. When you rejoin a server, your settings will be remembered.
Does this mod affect performance or download speeds?
Disabling server packs can reduce bandwidth and storage use. The mod itself has minimal performance impact, but having many active packs (server or otherwise) may slightly increase load times.
Can I use this mod on servers that don't allow mods?
Yes. Resource pack mods are client-side and don't change gameplay, so they're allowed on servers that restrict mods. The server cannot detect that you're using this mod.
