How do I turn on the outlines after installing the mod?
The outlines should be active by default once the mod is installed and you load a world. If you don't see them, check that you're looking directly at a block with your crosshair—the outline only appears on the block you're pointing at.
Can I change the color of the outlines?
Yes, you can customize outline colors through the mod's configuration file. Different block types can have different outline colors, allowing you to distinguish between stone, wood, ore, and other materials at a glance.
Why is the outline making my game lag?
Outline shaders can impact performance on very low-end systems. Try reducing render distance, lowering your graphics settings, or adjusting the outline intensity in the mod's config file to improve performance.
Do the outlines work on transparent blocks like glass and water?
Yes, the outlines work on all blocks including transparent ones, which makes it easier to see and select glass panes, water, and similar blocks that are normally hard to target.
Can I disable outlines for specific block types?
You can customize which blocks show outlines through the configuration settings, allowing you to hide outlines on blocks you don't need highlighted.
Does this mod work with other shader packs?
Select Outline Shaders is designed to work independently and may conflict with other shader packs. Use one or the other, not both simultaneously.

The bright outline clearly shows the block face you're targeting, making it easier to see exactly where your next block will go. This is especially helpful when building detailed structures or placing blocks on uneven terrain.
Will the outlines show through walls or obstacles?
No, outlines only appear on the block your crosshair is directly pointing at, so walls and other blocks between you and your target will block the outline from view.
Can I make the outlines thicker or thinner?
You can adjust the outline thickness through the mod's configuration file to make them more or less prominent depending on your preference.
Does this mod work in multiplayer servers?
