Troubleshoot Visual Glitches and Compatibility
Common Visual Issues
If you notice flickering, strange colors, or texture problems, first verify that SEL Shaders is the only shader pack active. Multiple shader packs conflict and cause rendering errors. Disable any other shaders before troubleshooting.
Reset to Default Settings
If visuals appear corrupted or incorrect, reset shader settings to defaults through the configuration menu. This resolves most issues caused by incompatible setting combinations.
Check Resource Pack Compatibility
SEL Shaders works with vanilla textures and most resource packs. If using a custom resource pack, try temporarily disabling it to confirm the shader itself isn't causing issues. Some heavily modified texture packs may conflict with shader lighting calculations.
Performance vs. Quality Balance
If you see stuttering or lag, reduce shadow quality and water effects before disabling features entirely. SEL Shaders is designed for low-end systems, but extremely old hardware may need minimal settings. Test changes in different environments to identify which features impact your specific system most.
