Configure Foliage and Crop Wind Effects

Access Animation Settings

Open the shader menu (default: K) and find the foliage or animation section. This controls how leaves, grass, and crops sway.

Adjust Wind Behavior

Modify these parameters:

  • Wind strength: Higher values make plants wave more dramatically. Lower values create subtle, gentle movement.
  • Wind speed: Controls how fast the swaying motion occurs. Faster speeds create more active, turbulent-looking wind.
  • Affected blocks: Some shaders let you toggle which plants respond—leaves, tall grass, crops, and vines can often be controlled separately.

Fine-Tune for Realism

Wind effects are most visible in large farms, forests, and gardens. After adjusting, stand in a grassy or leafy area and watch the movement. Natural-looking wind should feel organic, not mechanical or too rapid. If your farm looks like it's in a hurricane, reduce wind strength. For a more alive world, increase it slightly. Remember that wind affects all foliage simultaneously, so consistency across your builds matters for visual cohesion.
