Balance Brightness Between Lit and Dark Areas
Open Exposure and Contrast Settings
Access the shader menu (default: K) and look for exposure, brightness, or contrast controls. RtfShader balances bright light sources with dark survival areas to keep gameplay readable.
Adjust Lighting Balance
Modify these core settings:
- Exposure: Controls overall scene brightness. Increase if caves and night areas feel too dark for comfortable play.
- Contrast: Adjusts the difference between bright and dark regions. Higher contrast makes lit areas pop but can make shadows harder to see into.
- Ambient light: Boosts the baseline light level in shadowed areas without affecting direct light sources.
Test in Multiple Environments
Check your changes in different locations: bright daytime areas, torchlit bases, caves, and nighttime outdoors. The goal is readable survival gameplay—you should navigate caves without squinting and see mobs approaching from shadows. If torchlight feels washed out, reduce exposure. If caves are pitch-black, increase ambient light. Balance ensures your builds look great while remaining fully playable.
