Editing a Realized Dimension with the Dimension Editor

When to use the editor

A Realized Dimension Tab is locked to the properties written at realization time. If you want to change a dimension after the fact, you use the Dimension Editor rather than the Enscriber. The Dimension Editor lets you modify an already realized tab instead of building a new one from scratch.

What you can change

Through the editor you adjust the same categories the Enscriber handles: biome, terrain, sky, time, blocks, fluids, features, structures, attributes and tags. The corresponding dimlets — Biome Dimlet, Terrain Dimlet, Sky Dimlet, Time Dimlet, Block Dimlet, Fluid Dimlet, Feature Dimlet, Structure Dimlet, Attribute Dimlet and Tag Dimlet — are the units of change, along with Biome Category Dimlet and Biome Controller Dimlet for biome selection.

Practical flow

Keep a stock of filled dimlets before you open the editor. Insert the Realized Dimension Tab, apply the dimlet for the property you want to alter, and confirm. The dimension updates to match. Because editing a realized tab is more expensive in energy than writing an empty one, run the Dimension Builder with a higher-tier Energy Module — Uncommon, Rare or Legendary — if you plan to iterate on a dimension repeatedly.
