Refined Storage Addons — Guide

Mechanics

Binding and Setup

To use any portable item from Refined Storage Addons, it must be synchronized with a specific storage network. 1. Locate the Controller of your Refined Storage system. 2. Hold the wireless item (e.g., Wireless Crafting Grid) in your hand. 3. Shift-Right-Click the Controller. 4. The item's tooltip will update to show it is "Linked" to the coordinates of that Controller.

Energy and Charging

Wireless items require FE to function. They can be charged in any standard energy-charging station from other mods (such as Mekanism, Thermal Series, or Flux Networks). The energy is consumed whenever the player: * Opens the Grid interface. * Extracts an item. * Inserts an item. * Completes a crafting recipe.

Range Limitations

By default, wireless devices only work within a 16-block radius of a standard Wireless Transmitter. While the base mod allows for Range Upgrades to extend this to 48 blocks, the Infinite Wireless Transmitter from this addon removes this cap entirely. Note that cross-dimensional access still requires specific Interdimensional Upgrades or specialized network setups.

Items

Wireless Crafting Grid

The Wireless Crafting Grid is the flagship item of this addon. It functions identically to the standard Wireless Grid but includes a 3x3 crafting matrix. This allows players to access their entire storage network and craft items on the go without needing to return to a physical Crafting Grid block.

  • Energy Capacity: 3,200 FE (Forge Energy).
  • Usage: Consumes energy for every item extracted, inserted, or crafted.
  • Binding: Must be bound to a Controller by Shift-Right-Clicking the Controller block while the item is in hand.

Creative Wireless Crafting Grid

The Creative Wireless Crafting Grid provides the same functionality as the standard version but does not require energy to operate. It is primarily intended for Creative mode or as a high-tier reward in modpacks.

Network Picker

The Network Picker is a utility tool that enhances the "Pick Block" (middle-click) mechanic. When held in the offhand, it overrides the standard behavior: instead of selecting the block from your hotbar or inventory, it attempts to pull the block directly from your Refined Storage network. If the item is found in the system, it is instantly placed into your hand.

Network Bag

The Network Bag is a portable collection tool. When active and bound to a network, any items the player picks up in the world are automatically teleported into the Refined Storage system rather than occupying space in the player's inventory. This is ideal for large-scale mining or clearing operations.

Blocks

Infinite Wireless Transmitter

The Infinite Wireless Transmitter is a powerful upgrade to the standard Wireless Transmitter. While the base mod's transmitter has a limited range (even with upgrades), this block provides infinite range for all wireless devices within the same dimension.

  • Range: Infinite (within the same dimension).
  • Power Consumption: 1,000 FE/t (default, configurable).
  • Placement: Must be connected to the storage network via Cables or placed adjacent to other network blocks.
  • Functionality: Once active, any bound Wireless Crafting Grid or Wireless Grid will work regardless of how far the player travels from the base.

Recipes

The following table outlines the standard crafting components for the primary items and blocks added by the mod.

Item Primary Ingredients Crafting Station
Wireless Crafting Grid Wireless Grid, Crafting Table, Advanced Processor Crafting Table
Infinite Wireless Transmitter Wireless Transmitter, 4x Range Upgrades, Nether Star, Advanced Processor Crafting Table
Network Picker Advanced Processor, Construction Core, Paper Crafting Table
