Recolored Plants Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Do I need Polytone installed for this pack to work?
Yes, Polytone is required. The Recolored Plants Resource Pack uses Polytone's color-mapping system to apply biome-specific colors to plants, so the pack won't function without it installed.
Why are my plants still bright green in deserts and badlands?
Make sure both the resource pack and Polytone mod are enabled in your world. Check that the resource pack is loaded above any conflicting packs in your resource pack list, and verify Polytone is active by looking for its indicator in-game.
What plants does this pack actually recolor?
The pack recolors flower stems, leaves, saplings, kelp, seagrass, and other foliage to match their biome's grass color. It doesn't change flower petals or other decorative blocks—only the parts that would look out of place in dry or unusual biomes.
Can I use this with other resource packs?
Yes, but load Recolored Plants above other packs in your resource pack list to prevent conflicts. If another pack also modifies plant textures, the one loaded higher will take priority.
Does this pack work in the Nether or End?
The pack applies biome-based coloring wherever biomes exist, including Nether and End biomes, so plants in those dimensions will recolor to match their surroundings.
Will this pack affect my performance or FPS?
No, this is a resource pack paired with Polytone, not a heavy mod. It only changes textures and colors, so performance impact is minimal.
How do I create a garden that looks good across multiple biomes?
Plant flowers and saplings in areas where their recolored stems will blend with the local grass color. For example, plant flowers in forests where stems turn dark green, or in meadows where they stay bright green, rather than mixing biomes in one garden.
Do custom biomes from other mods get supported?
Support depends on whether Polytone recognizes the custom biome. Most popular biome mods work, but check the mod's documentation or test in-world to confirm your custom biomes receive recoloring.
Can I disable recoloring for specific plants?
You would need to edit the resource pack's texture files or Polytone's configuration directly, which requires manual file modification. There's no in-game toggle for individual plants.
Why do some plants look the same color as the grass and become hard to see?
This is intentional—the pack makes stems blend into grass for visual cohesion. If visibility is an issue, consider using plants with more colorful flowers or placing them in biomes where the stem color contrasts better with the grass.
