Adjust Shader Settings for Better Cave Visibility

Access Shader Options

Press Shift + O (or your configured key) while in-game to open the ReasonableView Shaders settings menu. This displays all available tuning options without leaving your world.

Increase Underground Brightness

Locate the Ambient Light or Cave Brightness slider in the settings panel. Increase this value if caves feel too dark for comfortable exploration. ReasonableView maintains playable visibility by default, but you can push it further if needed.

Also check Night Brightness settings if nighttime exploration feels dim—this shader preserves vanilla darkness better than some alternatives, so adjusting here gives you control.

Fine-Tune Shadow Intensity

If shadows are too harsh underground, reduce the Shadow Strength slider. This softens the contrast between lit and shadowed areas without removing shadows entirely, keeping the visual depth while improving readability.

Apply and Test

Changes apply instantly. Adjust incrementally—small changes often feel significant with this shader's balanced approach.
