Convert Sand to Glass at Double Speed
Prepare Your Sand Supply
Gather sand from beaches, deserts, or use a sand generator. Have a steady supply ready before starting, especially if you need glass for large windows or decorative builds.
Set Up Glass Production
1. Place one or more blast furnaces in your smelting area.
2. Feed sand into the top input slot manually or via hoppers from a sand storage.
3. Add fuel to the furnace (coal, charcoal, or lava buckets work equally well).
4. Collect glass from the output slot as it cooks.
Maximize Output
Blast furnaces cook sand at twice the normal speed, making this ideal for large building projects. If you need hundreds of glass blocks for a greenhouse or tower, multiple furnaces running simultaneously will complete the job much faster than standard ovens. Chain hoppers between furnaces and a central storage chest to automate collection and keep your workspace clear.
This method is especially useful when combined with other blast furnace recipes—you can run sand, cobblestone, and sponges through different furnaces in parallel.
