Raiders Mod 1.12.2, — Guide

Raider Classes

Raiders are divided into several specialized classes, each with unique behaviors, stats, and combat roles. Most Raiders are hostile, but some can be friendly or summoned as mercenaries.

Hostile Classes

Class Description Behavior & Abilities
Raider (Normal) The standard foot soldier. Uses basic melee weapons; can open doors and loot inventories.
Archer Ranged specialist. Similar to a Skeleton but with player-like movement and skin.
Brute Heavy tank class. Larger, slower, and possesses significantly higher health and attack damage.
Tweaker Fast-moving 'glass cannon'. Runs at high speeds with no regard for self-preservation; emits a distinct, unsettling scream.
Screamer (Witch) Elite spellcaster. Creates a localized fog effect and audio cues when nearby; casts powerful damaging spells.
Pyromaniac Arsonist. Carries Flint and Steel; actively seeks out flammable structures and players to set on fire.
Ranger Long-range combatant. Uses bows or specialized ranged weapons to engage from a distance.
Child Mob Small, fast variant. Similar to baby zombies; harder to hit due to their small hitbox.

Friendly Classes

Class Description Behavior & Abilities
Dropper Mercenary support. Spawns from the sky in Drop Pods; assists the player in combat. If Laser Creepers Riding Dinobots is installed, they may spawn with laser rifles.

Mechanics

Progression System

Raiders utilize a 'Raid Difficulty Progression' system. Every X number of days (default is 7), the mod increases the 'Raid Level'. As the level rises: * Raiders spawn with higher-quality armor and weapons (from leather/stone to diamond/enchanted). * Mobs receive random stat upgrades, such as increased health, speed, or damage. * The chance for elite classes like Screamers and Brutes to spawn increases.

Skin System

One of the mod's defining features is the ability to customize Raider appearances. The mod fetches skins based on a list of usernames provided in the configuration files. * File Location: config/raiders/raiders_skins.json (or .txt in older versions). * Customization: Users can add any valid Minecraft username to the list. The mod will then randomly assign these skins to spawned Raiders. * Twitch Integration: Supports whitelisting Twitch subscribers to have their skins appear in-game.

Advanced AI

Raiders are programmed with 'Shared Skills' that make them more dangerous than vanilla mobs: * Looting: They can take items from chests and other usable inventories. * Griefing: They are capable of breaking farmland and harvesting crops. * Navigation: They can navigate through doors and use ladders effectively. * Equipment Usage: Raiders will actively equip better items they find or steal from the player.

Items

The mod adds a small selection of items related to the creation and summoning of Raiders.

Consumables & Materials

  • Serum-B: A powerful chemical compound used to create Brutes. When consumed by a player, it provides a significant boost to strength and power but reduces movement speed. Once the effect wears off, the player suffers a temporary penalty.
  • Strange Samples: Rare drops from Raiders used in the crafting of Serum-B.

Equipment

  • Mercenary Comm: A handheld device used to call for reinforcements. Upon use, it triggers the descent of 3–7 Drop Pods containing friendly Dropper-class Raiders to fight alongside the player.
