Create Wooden Stairs Directly from Planks
Preparing Your Materials
Gather wooden planks of your desired wood type. You'll need access to a stonecutter block placed on solid ground.
Cutting Stairs
1. Right-click the stonecutter to open its interface
2. Place wooden planks into the material input slot
3. Locate the stair option in the output grid
4. Click the stair option to produce a wooden stair block
5. Take the stairs from the output slot
Each plank produces one stair block. Unlike the crafting table method, you don't need to combine multiple planks—the stonecutter handles the conversion directly.
Advantages Over Crafting
Using a stonecutter saves inventory space and is more efficient than traditional crafting recipes. This is especially useful when building large staircases or multi-level structures where you need many stairs quickly. You can cut stairs from any wood type the stonecutter accepts, making it ideal for mixed-wood builds.
