Enable Pseudo Localization to Test Your Custom Font
Activate the Language Pack
Pseudo Localization lets you see how your custom font renders with a wide variety of character shapes and international symbols. This is essential before releasing a font resource pack.
1. Open your language settings in Minecraft
2. Scroll through the available languages until you find the pseudo localized option
3. Select it to apply the pack
4. Return to the main menu or your world
Check Font Coverage
Once active, look at:
- Menu text — buttons, settings, and labels should display without missing glyphs
- Chat messages — type in chat to see how your font handles real-time text input
- Item tooltips — hover over items to verify tooltip text renders correctly
- Inventory screens — check that item names and descriptions fit within their boxes
If you see boxes, question marks, or overlapping text, your font is missing characters or kerning needs adjustment. Return to your font file and add the missing Unicode ranges, then reload the resource pack to test again.
