Set Up Prettier Parrots to Display Correctly
Install Required Dependencies
Prettier Parrots requires additional mods to render its custom parrot and toucan models. You need either Optifine or both Entity Texture Features and Entity Model Features installed alongside the resource pack.
Enable Custom Entity Models
If using Optifine:
- Launch Minecraft with Optifine installed
- Open Options → Video Settings → Custom Entity Models
- Ensure the setting is toggled ON
- Close settings and reload your world
If using Entity Texture Features + Entity Model Features:
- Ensure both mods are in your mods folder
- Load into a world—the features enable automatically
- No additional configuration needed
Verify Installation
Fly or travel to a jungle biome where parrots spawn naturally. If you see rounded, detailed bird models with proper wings and beaks instead of blocky vanilla shapes, the pack is working. Toucans should also appear as distinct variants alongside traditional parrots. If models still look blocky, restart your launcher and double-check that your chosen dependency mod is active in the mods list.
