Organize Multiple Portal Links with Color Coding

Managing a Complex Portal Network

When you have many linked portals across bases and dimensions, a color system keeps everything organized and prevents accidental link conflicts.

Planning Your Color Scheme

1. Assign one dye color per portal pair. For example: red for your main base ↔ Nether hub, blue for your farm base ↔ Nether farm, green for Overworld base ↔ Overworld outpost.

2. Write down your assignments. Keep a note or sign system to remember which color connects where.

3. Avoid reusing colors. Since each color can only link one pair, using the same dye on a third portal will break an existing connection.

Implementation Tips

  • Label your portals. Place signs near each frame showing its dye color and destination.
  • Use consistent colors. Stick to a logical pattern (e.g., warm colors for main bases, cool colors for farms).
  • Test before committing. Dye one frame, travel through, then dye the partner to confirm the link works as intended.
  • Keep spare dyes. Store extra dye items near your portals for quick adjustments.

This system prevents confusion and makes it easy to modify links later without breaking unrelated connections.
