POIs and Raid Bosses Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I create my first Point of Interest?
Look at any block you want to use, then type `/poi new ` in chat. This binds the block and opens the designer menu where you can pick your battle mode, mobs, costs, and rewards.
What's the difference between the four battle modes?
Survive the Timer has players fight waves while a countdown drains; Summoned Boss spawns a single boss with minion support after a warning; Guarded Ground keeps a boss and guards in one area with respawn cooldowns; World Boss creates a roaming boss that announces itself server-wide until defeated.
Can I change a battle's difficulty after I've set it up?
Yes. Use `/poi set difficulty health|strength` to adjust the boss health or attack multiplier without rebuilding the arena, and toggle `/poi set difficulty minions on|off` to apply multipliers to minion mobs too.
Do the item costs need to be vanilla Minecraft items?
No. The mod accepts any item from vanilla Minecraft or installed mods, and it preserves enchantments, custom names, and item data when players offer them as sacrifice.
What happens if a player leaves the arena during a battle?
You can set custom fail rules in the designer menu, including an option to fail the entire battle if a player leaves the zone—this is configurable per Point of Interest.
Can I respawn a boss without resetting all its settings?
Yes. Use `/poi respawn ` to clear the current boss or guardian and spawn a fresh one with all your original settings intact.
Are Points of Interest protected from being broken?
Yes. The mod prevents the designated block from being destroyed by tools or explosions, keeping your arena setup safe.
Can I use mobs from other mods as bosses or waves?
Yes. The mod works with any mob from vanilla Minecraft or any other installed mod—just select them in the designer's mob selection tab.
How do world boss announcements work?
When a World Boss spawns or is defeated, the mod broadcasts a server-wide alert so all players know about the event.
Can I edit a Point of Interest after it's created?
Yes. Sneak and right-click the block as an operator to open the designer, or use `/poi edit [name]` to access the full list and modify any settings.
