Paladins All the Smites Data Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Do I need all three mods for this data pack to work?
Yes, you must have Paladins, Spellblades, and Spell Engine installed before loading this data pack. The pack won't function if any of these are missing.
How do I check if Smite is actually working on my weapons?
Equip a weapon that should have Smite and attack an undead enemy like a zombie or skeleton—you should see increased damage compared to hitting other mobs. You can also check your weapon's tooltip in your inventory to see if Smite is listed as an ability.
Why don't my ruby weapons have Smite damage?
Make sure this data pack is loaded after both Paladins and Spellblades in your mod list. If you already had ruby weapons before installing the pack, try creating new ones or using a crafting table to refresh them.
What's the difference between this pack and just playing Paladins and Spellblades normally?
Without this pack, certain weapons from these mods—especially ruby-tier weapons and the aeternium mace—don't receive the Smite ability even though they should. This pack fills that gap so all compatible weapons work as intended.
Does the aeternium mace do more damage than other weapons with Smite?
The aeternium mace is a heavy weapon with its own damage characteristics, and adding Smite to it makes it effective against undead, but the exact damage depends on your mod versions and any other enchantments you apply.
Can I use this pack with other magic mods besides Paladins and Spellblades?
This data pack is specifically designed to patch compatibility between Paladins and Spellblades only. Other magic mods may work alongside it but won't receive Smite updates from this pack.
Do I need to start a new world for the data pack to work?
No, you can add this data pack to an existing world, but weapons you already crafted before installing it may not have the Smite update—craft new ones to see the changes.
Will this pack cause lag or performance issues?
This is a lightweight data pack that only modifies weapon abilities and shouldn't cause performance problems. If you experience lag, it's more likely from having all three mods loaded rather than this patch itself.
What happens if I remove this data pack after using Smite weapons?
Weapons will lose their Smite ability, but they won't break or disappear—they'll just function as they did before the pack was installed.
Are there any weapons this pack doesn't add Smite to?
This pack covers all weapons from Paladins and Spellblades that are meant to have Smite. If a weapon doesn't get Smite, it's likely because the original mod design didn't intend it to have that ability.
