Recycle Unwanted Wooden Doors and Slabs Back into Planks
Breaking Down Wooden Items
If you've cut too many doors or slabs and want to recover the wood, the Stonecutter can reverse the process. This keeps your storage organized and prevents waste.
Steps
1. Open your Stonecutter and place a wooden door or slab into the input slot
2. The output menu will show recycling options—typically planks or sticks depending on the item
3. Select the output you want (usually planks for doors, or planks/sticks for slabs)
4. The Stonecutter will break down the item and return the base materials
Balancing and Efficiency
Recycling outputs are carefully balanced to prevent item duplication. You won't get back exactly the same number of planks you'd need to craft the item from scratch—this is intentional to maintain game balance. However, you'll recover enough material to be worthwhile, especially when clearing out storage.
This is most useful after large building projects when you have leftover cut wood pieces taking up chest space. Recycling them frees up room and gives you usable materials for future projects.
