Omni Cut Better Wood Copper and Stone Cutter Data Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Do I need a crafting table to turn logs into stairs?
No. Place a Stonecutter, insert logs into the input slot, and select stairs from the output menu. The Stonecutter handles the entire conversion in one step.
Which wood types work with the Stonecutter?
All wood types are supported, including Oak, Spruce, Birch, Jungle, Acacia, Dark Oak, Mangrove, Cherry, Pale Oak, and Bamboo.
Can I recycle wooden doors back into planks?
Yes. Place wooden doors (or other wooden items like slabs) into the Stonecutter's input slot and select the plank or stick output option to break them down.
How do I process oxidized copper blocks?
Insert any copper block (including weathered, exposed, and oxidized variants) into the Stonecutter and choose from cutting options like stairs, slabs, doors, bars, or chains. Each oxidation stage can be processed independently.
Do I need cobbled deepslate to make deepslate bricks?
No. The Stonecutter lets you process deepslate blocks directly into tiles, bricks, and stairs without an intermediate cobbled deepslate step.
What happens if I put two slabs in a crafting table?
Place two matching slabs side by side horizontally in a crafting grid to reassemble them into a single full block.
Can I recycle polished stone and cut stone variants?
Yes. Insert polished stone, stone stairs, stone slabs, and other cut stone variants into the Stonecutter to convert them back into base stone blocks.
Does recycling cause item duplication?
No. Recycling outputs are balanced to prevent duplication while still allowing you to convert unwanted items into useful base materials.
Can I make wooden doors and shelves from logs?
Yes. Insert logs into the Stonecutter and select doors or shelves from the cutting menu—no crafting table required.
Does this data pack work with other mods?
The data pack works with vanilla Minecraft blocks and wood types. Compatibility with other mods depends on whether those mods add custom wood or stone blocks that integrate with the Stonecutter system.
