Set Up Item Protection After Natural Deaths

Designate Your Heirs

When you die to environmental damage or mobs, your inventory drops as loot. Protect valuable items by naming trusted players as heirs—only they can pick up your death drops.

Steps:

1. Identify friends you trust completely

2. Type /heirs add <player_name> for each trusted friend

3. Confirm the addition with /heirs list to verify your heir roster

How It Works

Once designated, your heirs gain exclusive pickup rights to items you drop from natural deaths. This does not apply to items lost in player-versus-player combat—those follow your /pvpdrops setting instead.

You can remove an heir at any time with /heirs remove <player_name> if your trust changes. This system is ideal for protecting rare equipment, enchanted tools, or valuable resources from being claimed by strangers or rivals who happen to pass by after you fall into lava or drown.

Set up heirs before engaging in dangerous activities like cave exploration or mining deep underground.
