Adjust Lighting to Match Your Building Style
Access Shader Settings
Press the shader settings key (default: Right Shift + R, or check your keybinds) to open the OffShades configuration menu. This is where all visual adjustments live.
Tune Ambient Light and Shadows
OffShades blends three shader approaches, so you have control over how bright or dark your world feels. Look for options labeled "Ambient Light," "Shadow Intensity," or "Lighting Balance." Increase ambient light if you're building indoors and want details visible without torches everywhere. Decrease it for dramatic outdoor scenes with strong shadows.
Adjust Block Outline Clarity
Since OffShades inherits block outline rendering from Complementary Shaders, you can usually find a "Block Detail" or "Outline Strength" slider. Crank this up if you're working on detailed builds and need crisp edges. Lower it for a softer, more atmospheric look.
Test in Different Times
Load your world and cycle through day and night using commands or by waiting. The balanced lighting approach means your adjustments should look good at both times. If one period looks off, fine-tune the shadow or ambient settings until both feel right for your building project.
