How to Sacrifice and Bind Spirits

Prepare the Sacrificial Bowl

Place a Copper Sacrificial Bowl, Dark Copper Sacrificial Bowl, Silver Sacrificial Bowl, Dark Silver Sacrificial Bowl, or Dark Sacrificial Bowl at your ritual site. These bowls hold the offerings consumed during summoning.

Gather Binding Materials

You need Book of Binding: Empty to capture a spirit. Craft it, then use it in a ritual to produce Book of Binding: Foliot, Book of Binding: Djinni, Book of Binding: Afrit, or Book of Binding: Marid. Some books come pre-bound: Book of Binding: Foliot (Bound) and Book of Binding: Djinni (Bound) are ready to use directly.

Perform the Sacrifice Ritual

Place the Book of Binding: Empty and the required offerings into the sacrificial bowl. The ritual consumes the items and fills the book. For higher-tier spirits, you need Afrit Essence, Cruelty Essence, Demon's Dream Essence, or Dragonyst Dust as ritual components. Fragile Soul Gem and Spirit Attuned Gem are also used in binding and storage rituals.

Use the Bound Spirit

Once bound, the spirit can be assigned to a task via Book of Calling items: Book of Calling: Foliot Farmer, Book of Calling: Foliot Janitor, Book of Calling: Foliot Lumberjack, Book of Calling: Foliot Transporter, or Book of Calling: Djinni Machine Operator. Place the bound book and the calling book into the appropriate ritual to deploy the spirit. The spirit then performs its assigned job automatically.
