How to Get Started with Occultism Chalk and Ritual Bowls

Gather Chalk

Chalk is the foundation of every ritual. You need White Chalk plus colored variants: Black Chalk, Blue Chalk, Brown Chalk, Cyan Chalk, Gray Chalk, Green Chalk, Light Blue Chalk, Light Gray Chalk, Lime Chalk, Magenta Chalk, Orange Chalk, Pink Chalk, Purple Chalk, Red Chalk, and Yellow Chalk. Each has an Impure counterpart — Impure Black Chalk, Impure Blue Chalk, and so on — produced earlier in the chain and refined into the pure version.

Carry a Chalk Brush to wipe markings so you can redraw a circle without breaking blocks.

Pick a Bowl and Candles

Ritual bowls come in tiers: Copper Sacrificial Bowl, Dark Copper Sacrificial Bowl, Silver Sacrificial Bowl, Dark Silver Sacrificial Bowl, Golden Ritual Bowl, Dark Golden Ritual Bowl, Iesnium Ritual Bowl, Dark Iesnium Ritual Bowl, and Dark Sacrificial Bowl. Higher tiers unlock stronger spirits. Place the bowl at the center of your chalk circle.

Ring the bowl with Large Candles — Large White Candle, Large Red Candle, Large Black Candle, and the rest of the color set. Light them to charge the circle. Add a Celestial Chalice or Eldritch Chalice for advanced rituals.

Keep a Dictionary Of Spirits in your inventory to track which spirits you have unlocked, and a Divination Rod to locate ritual sites and ore. Familiar Ring, Familiar Glove, and Familiar Tablet store familiars once you begin binding them.
