How to Bind Spirits with the Ritual Setup

Prepare the Circle

Spirit binding runs on the occultism:ritual recipe type. Lay down chalk first: White Chalk for the outer ring, then a colored chalk such as Red Chalk, Blue Chalk, or Green Chalk for the inner glyphs. Use a Chalk Brush to erase mistakes. Place a Golden Ritual Bowl, Iesnium Ritual Bowl, or Dark Iesnium Ritual Bowl at the center — the bowl tier gates which spirits you can call.

Surround the bowl with Large Candles in the color the ritual calls for. Light them before starting.

Run the Ritual

Drop the required offering into the bowl, then activate the ritual. The bowl consumes the offering and the circle resolves into a bound spirit. To capture it, hold a Book of Binding: Empty and right-click the result — this yields a filled book such as Book of Binding: Foliot, Book of Binding: Djinni, Book of Binding: Afrit, or Book of Binding: Marid. Some entries appear in a (Bound) variant once the spirit is sealed.

For automated tasks, convert a bound book into a Book of Calling — for example Book of Calling: Foliot Farmer, Book of Calling: Foliot Lumberjack, Book of Calling: Foliot Janitor, Book of Calling: Foliot Transporter, or Book of Calling: Djinni Machine Operator. Place the Book of Calling into the matching workstation to put the spirit to work. Keep spare Fragile Soul Gem and Spirit Attuned Gem on hand for related crafting.
