How do I see my reputation in a village?
Enter any village with four or more villagers and a reputation tracker bar will fade onto your screen at the top, showing your current standing with that community. The bar disappears when you leave the village area.
What's the fastest way to build reputation from zero?
Defend villages from raids (each raid defense grants significant reputation), then trade fairly with villagers and craft iron golems to steadily increase your standing. Maxing out trade levels with individual villagers also rewards reputation points.
Can I steal from villages without getting caught?
Yes—wear a carved pumpkin or drink an invisibility potion before looting chests, barrels, or workstations to hide your identity from witnesses. You can also bribe lone villagers with emeralds before they alert the rest of the town.
What happens if my reputation goes negative?
Villagers become weary or distrusting depending on how negative you are, raising trade prices and refusing to interact with you. Find the Village Leader in town and complete redemption trades to restore your standing.
How do I stop iron golems from attacking me?
Iron golems only turn hostile when your reputation reaches the exiled tier (the lowest rank). Raise your reputation back above that threshold by completing redemption trades with the Village Leader, or avoid the village entirely until you recover.
Do villagers remember me across different villages?
Each village tracks your reputation separately, so your standing in one community does not affect how villagers in other towns treat you.
What crimes do villagers actually witness and care about?
Villagers notice when you open chests, break workstations, use hoppers to steal items, break crops, sleep in occupied beds, or attack them directly. Breaking crops and sleeping in beds cause minor reputation loss, while theft and violence cause larger drops.
How long does it take for a witness to forgive me after catching me stealing?
Witnesses refuse to trade with you for a full day after catching you in the act, but you can speed up forgiveness by bribing them with emeralds or completing redemption trades with the Village Leader.
Can I hide my reputation from villagers by sneaking?
Sneaking alone does not hide your actions—you must wear a carved pumpkin or drink an invisibility potion to prevent villagers from witnessing crimes and reporting you.
Does this mod affect performance or cause lag in villages?
The mod tracks reputation per village and villager behavior, which is generally lightweight, but very large villages with many residents may see minor performance impacts depending on your system.
